Great Black and White Photographers Part 3

1. The reason why I chose my photographers was because each other of them had something that stood out even within a simple photo also while looking at their photos you can tell that they each have there own story behind their photo.

2. I see someone hands and in the person right hand there is an object and maybe wire in the other.
    I smell something dull rusty.
    I hear silent .
    I taste nothing.
I feel the sun on my skin and cold metal on my arm.

I see cactus around me a cover little boy and a hat on him.
I smell the cactus juice.
I hear the photographer tell me where to stand.
I taste nothing.
I feel the covers over my body and the hat against my head.

When I first seen this photo of the person hands and that metal thing or whatever it is. It made me think that the person is a hard worker kind of a older man. He might cut hair or work in the fields.

When I first seen the photo of the little boy, it made me think he lives in Mexico, doesn't have the best in things but the person in raising him does care for him because they covered him up. He also looks kind of sad in the photo.

The Three Pillars of Exposure: Aperture, ISO, Shutter Speed

F2.8

F16

1. It is easier to understand the concept if you just think about our eyes.

2. The smaller the Aperture the larger the f-number, the higher the Aperture the smaller the f-number.
3. The better and more focus it is depth of field seems to have a more clearer photo.

 High Shutter Speed

Slow Shutter

Shutter Speed - the time for which a shutter is open at a given setting.

                      Reasonable Light
a.) the dunking booth - Fast
b.) the food eating contest - Medium
c.) the rock climbing wall - Slow
d.) someone working at a booth - Medium
e.) the DJ/MC working at the middle of the circle - Medium
f.) the Diamonds performance - Fast

"Auto Mode" is when it automatically shoots in both shutter sound & aperture.
"Shutter Priority" sets the camera to shutter speed & the camera automatically chooses the aperture itself.
"Manual" sets the camera in both shutter speed & aperture manually.

ISO

1. What are the advantages of shooting with a higher ISO setting at a sporting event like a night football game?
It catches the action shots.
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO?
Less sensitive
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO?
 More sensitive.

F4 ---1/112 sec
F5.6 ---1/60 sec
F8---1/60 sec
F11---1/60 sec
F16 --- 1/30 sec
F22---1/15 sec

The background gets darker, and unfocused.

Mural

  1. The theme I would use to do a mural would have to be over  fashion because everyone has their own way to dress up and express them self and say its fashionable.
  2. The reason it would be worth it because a lot of students do take the time and effort to get ready and make a fashion statement every time they get ready for the  day, also because sometimes people are concerned about whats in style and whats out.
  3. The advantages of using a phone camera is that you are able to send/post quicker, the disadvantages of using a phone camera is the sometimes the quality is at its best and you aren't always able to really edited things also when zooming it just makes the focus really bad.
  4.  A advantage of using a SLR camera is that you can focus and zoom on the picture and make it look clear if you want. But the disadvantages are that you can't make the picture lack and white or use other effects on the camera cause they don't come wi the camera.
  5. I think we should use a SLR camera because we can just take the pictures and make them look clear and then edit them if they need any on the computer but i think the pictures will look more professional if we take it with the SLR camera than our phone camera.
